Jeff's Wizards and Warriors Item Editor

This tool can be used to modify many properties of the games items. Be sure to back up the files that the editor modifies (d6trlist.dat, d6item.dat, and d6mons.dat). I have done my best to make sure the editor doesn't bork anything, but it is always conceivable that there are bugs. Save yourself a headache, some heartache, and the time necessary to re-install the game.

• Executable file only version 0.95 (392 KB) — This download simply contains the editor. This may be all you need.
• Setup package (1.98 MB) — Alternately, you can download this package to install the editor and all VB dependencies needed for it to run.

Please feel free to report any bugs in the editor to me via the contact form. Please include as much detail about the bug as you can (what you have edited, what broke, any leads as to what you think happened, etc.)

Wizards and Warriors Mod

• Wizards and Warriors Mod (52 KB) — The initial release of the mod.

This is just a small mod to modify the items, weapons, and armor in the game, as well as the treasure drops. Many items are now stackable that weren't, and almost all non-quest related weapons and armor are enchantable. It also changes a few of the earlier (annoying) monsters (like bats, worgurs and lagoon pirahnas) so that they give slightly more experience. The mod also removes the infamous "smite party now" attack that Amazoni Mantraps and Jungle Lilies have; they still have a brutal extended range lash attack, but now a party at least has a shot in close range if they are not ganged up upon.

To use this mod:

• Backup your deep6.exe, d6trlist.dat, d6item.dat, and d6mons.dat files.
• Copy the .dat files to your Wizards and Warriors directory. You may want to backup your old ones first.
• Make sure that your Wizards and Warriors game is patched to the unofficial version 1.0. This is important. I will post this file shortly.
• Apply the Wizards and Warriors Jeff's Mod patch to your deep6.exe file. It will patch both the No-CD version of deep6 as well as the original. There are two versions of the patch included in your download; one is an .ips file that you can apply with IPS XP or some similar IPS patching program, and the other is the same patch in .exe format. You only need to use one of these files.
