The Custom Classes mod has received quite an improvement. The Necromancer, Cannoneer, Oracle, and Gladiator jobs are now available after the Earth crystal! And that’s not all, go to the Final Fantasy 5 Downloads Page to see what has changed, and see whether or not you would want to download the new version!

I really love the spirit of this hack – more customization is always a plus in my book, and giving each skill a stat boost adds a new dimension to setting up your characters. But, I have to wonder why every enemy gives experience now.
Low-level runs of this game are well-known in the community for the creative tactics they demand, owing to your characters’ small MP, damage output and health caps. If each boss and every enemy gives experience, then it could be difficult to finish the game below level 20; that’s practically an ordinary level considering all the tools the game gives you. This is especially so given that the damage formulas rely very heavily on levels – not stats. All this to say that if you give the player three ability slots and ability bonuses to stats, maybe the game could be able to put up more of a fight.
I always appreciate people tinkering with this great game, and I’d enjoy a discussion on what the gameplay and challenge could use.
